Daniel Drust

Hi! My name is Danny Drust and I'm Scenic Carpenter, Lighting Technician, and Stagehand for Chicago Local 2 Stagehand Union.I have around 12 years of Theater and Event experience (4 years in a college setting at Southeast Missouri State University, and 9 years freelancing in the Chicago industry).

During my college career, I worked in the Scene Shop for the Holland Conservatory of Theatre & Dance for 4 years, building the sets and scenic pieces for the student productions. I worked as a Scene Shop Assistant for 3 of those semesters. I also spent 4 years working as a Stagehand for the River Campus Productions; assisting with Touring Shows and Musical Performances.

In my professional career, I've worked for many theater companies like Drury Lane, Big Noise Theater, and The Mac at College of DuPage. I've also worked for several corporate event companies like Williams Signal, Above the Mark, Kehoe Designs, and recently became a Crew Lead for Stage Masters.

During my free time, I enjoy social dancing in contra, east and west coast swing, and blues. It's a great way to socialize and get a little cardio in.
