Biography

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

I was first drawn to electricity in childhood, and have experience with engineering, building, administering, and modernizing high-end A/V, audio, general construction, information technology and electronics test systems. I am very good with problem solving, training, customer interfacing, team management, technical writing, and proposal development. I am looking to use my technical, analytical and communication strengths in a goals-oriented setting.

EXPERIENCE

Pro Sound and A/V

Designed and built loudspeakers and customized audio components for systems used in nightclubs (1973-80); Fabricated and automated major multimedia installations (1977-79); Freelanced for projects with DC-based RCI Sound and Smithsonian A/V (1977-80); Extensive experience with museum and corporate A/V (1987-89 & 2011-18); Learned analog recording and microphone placement at Omega Recording Studio (1974-77); Produced narratives and detailed pricing for bid packages in project wins as large as $5M (2013-18); Produced operational, maintenance, and technical manuals, and provided on-site training (2010-18); Managed logistics between engineering and installation teams (2014-18); Familiar with recent FCC rule changes and sound reinforcement innovations, including DSP, line-arrays, and both active and passive acoustical treatments (Meyer Sound, JBL, Martin Audio, Bi-Amp, RPG Diffusers, etc.). With intro to modern console from a lead engineer I would be capable of handling mix for stage / house.

Information Technology and Electronics

Extensive experience with network systems and desktops running Windows, MacOS, Novell Netware, UNIX, Banyan Vines (1989-2022); Tier 2 support for platforms hosting Oracle, MS SQL and Sybase database applications (1996-2000); Electronic Medical Record deployment (EPIC, Duke Health, 2012); Fabrication and maintenance of custom circuitry and software used with ATE for production and IC research (Raytheon Semiconductor / Stanford EE, 1981-87)

General Business and Computer Skills

Excellent general desktop OS and iPhone application skills, including Windows (10 & 11), Office 365 (Excel, Word, OneDrive), QuickBooks, Nitro PDF, MacOS, and browser administration and optimization (Chrome / G-Suite, Firefox, MS Edge and Safari, on Windows, iOS and MacOS)
